"Dear Dean: I am 1 month and 18 days past my closing date, and I moved into my first home on Friday, May 30th.  The move went well. I still can't believe that I own this place.  I have rented for so long that I think it will take a while before it sinks in.   

My first mortgage is due July 1st.  I keep telling myself that every time I write out that check, I am writing it out to myself.  It is an investment for me.  My mortgage is a little more than what I was paying in rent, but essentially, I was paying someone else's mortgage.  Everyone tells me that I did the right thing.  I am finally convinced. 

When I paint or repair, I know that it is permanent.  I don't have to worry about my security deposit being returned.  I can make my own decisions about my own place. 

So all of this leads me back to you, and the purpose of this letter.  I want to thank you for taking me through what can be a very difficult life event, and making it a smooth ride.  I think what impressed me the most was your complete availability.  With all my phone calls, and questions, and at times I admit, some anxiety.  You were there for me know matter what time of day or night it was.  Your counsel is greatly appreciated.  I think your cell phone  went to voice mail on 2 occasions in a 6 month period.  I never knew how hard a real estate agent worked.  You were timely, consistent and honest.
